History – from an idea in a garage to full scale production!
Dorotea Mekaniska AB was founded in a garage workshop in 1989, by Torbjörn Hahlin, who then was a one man operation with his focus on industrial service and welding jobs. The production of boat mounted reed cutters took off in about 1991, and approximately a year later the first employee was hired. Soon thereafter, the company moved to larger premises, and more members of staff were hired.
The idea of an amphibian equipment carrier started to become reality in 1994, and the first prototypes were manufactured. Two years later contacts abroad started showing interest in the unique amphibian tool carrier. Exports to Hungary and Finland took off and the company expanded into markets in other countries around the world.
Today Dorotea Mekaniska AB is housed in new, purpose built premises, and over 90% of the total production of amphibian machines is exported to countries all over the world.
